On the influence of temperature field parameters
on tribological properties of friction pair
The paper is dedicated to analysis of influence of friction surface temperature and temperature field gradient on coefficient of friction, frictional force and wear intensity.
Considering friction pair ‘cutting tool vs. work-piece’, expressions for coefficient of friction evaluation in conditions of elastic and plastic sliding contacts were obtained taking into account thermodynamical nature of temperature field gradient influence on wear processes.
These expressions determine on the qualitative level the influence of temperature field characteristics on friction and wear phenomena.
